Make Circular Economy Actions for All profitable

Desired outcome

Circular Economy Actions for All:
"Circular for All" online platform:
The "Online Platform" for exchanging, buying, selling and donating used items, "Circular for all" (www.circularforall.org) is a single online platform designed with a mission to connect people who wish to exchange, sell, buy, donate or repair used items in an easy, safe and sustainable way and as a means where one can find small businesses that provide repair/repair services.
Lending Library of Things:
The first "Library of Things" in Cyprus was created and is run voluntarily by KyklOIKOdromio at 16-18 Liasidou Street within the walls of Nicosia (www.circularlibraryforall.org). The "Library of Things" is a collection of objects where a member of the local community can borrow objects that are used occasionally such as tools, gardening or hobby equipment, musical instruments etc. All items from the library collection are picked up and returned to the library during library hours. This is a concept that encourages sharing and sustainability by providing access to a wide range of items that people may only need occasionally. The concept aims to reduce consumption, promote collaborative consumption and build a sense of community. It is based on the principle of "lending rather than buying" and helps to reduce environmental impact.

Initial Problem Description

The challenge lies in effectively promoting these actions to ensure they translate into a profitable business venture. Despite the potential profitability of these initiatives, garnering widespread attention and buy-in from stakeholders presents a significant hurdle. Additionally, navigating regulatory frameworks, securing adequate funding, and overcoming market competition further complicate the process of turning these actions into a sustainable and lucrative business opportunity

Context

The context of the problem revolves around promoting circular economy actions to stakeholders and the public. This includes raising awareness about the importance of adopting circular practices to minimize waste, conserve resources, and promote sustainability. The aim is to educate stakeholders and the public about the benefits of embracing circular economy principles and encourage their active participation in implementing circular solutions. This context encompasses various sectors such as business, government, academia, and civil society, highlighting the need for collective action to address environmental challenges and create a more sustainable future.

Connection to cross-cutting areas

The challenge is connected with circular economy actions. Our current challenge is intricately linked to the concept of Circularity. We are striving to enhance our processes and strategies to ensure that resources are utilized in a circular manner, promoting sustainability and minimizing waste. By embracing the principles of Circularity, we aim to transform society into a more efficient and environmentally friendly model.
