Desired outcome
Tennis is lagging behind other popular sports in data analytics. Our solution is perfect for tennis coaches who would like to have a video analysis supported by data on the body movement of the student and the ball movement. Our cameras capture the ball's movement and the tennis player's skeleton at the time of hitting the ball. User gets the information about the statistics of the ball movement in relation to the body movement of the player.
Initial Problem Description
We would like to know what difficulties await us on the path of offering our solution to tennis coaches and academies around the globe.
How many top tennis academies out there are already using this type of data acquisition? What is the market potential for this kind of business in the EU and later globally?
Context
Tennis coaches have to look at several things at once while training a pupil. Our computer vision solution will help them analyze the body movement of a pupil at the time of hitting the ball which will be compared to the effectiveness of the ball movement. Our solution will give the coach the results of the training which he will then use to correct the player in order to get better results from their ball hits.
Connection to cross-cutting areas
Tennis is called a data dinosaur compared to other popular sports. Digitalization and data acquirement in tennis is lagging behind sports like football, baseball, basketball, and others.
Our solution will give tennis coaches a cutting edge based on the AI Yolo V8 algorithm. It will serve as a digital helper, enabling coaches to focus on other training principles other than body movement.
