Reaching new SME clients

Desired outcome

Significa would like to raise its brand awareness and expand our client base. We would especially like to target Small and Medium Enterprises and their owners. We expect the team to build a marketing campaign to target these specific clients and to effectively present the range of services company Significa has to offer.

Initial Problem Description

SME and their owners are a very fragmented group of clients. We find that they are not aware of our company and the advisory services we have to offer. Since they are relatively small, they are not aggressively targeted by big advisory companies. Because of this they end up making wrong or non-optimal business decisions. We would like to improve this and to significantly expand our client base in this area. We would like the team to devise a marketing campaign.

Context

For example, a SME business owner wishes to sell their company. This could be for a number of reasons such as retiring or simply wishing to capitalise on their achievement. In order to successfully sell their ownership, they need a financial advisor who will lead the sales process and find a new owner for the company. We would like such an SME owner to contact us and use our services. We also help companies in preparing themselves for the sales process and through company valuations manage owners’ expectations on the selling price.

Our services are connected to circularity and general sustainability, Successful ownership transition helps the company to survive and to expand under new ownership. This saves jobs and creates opportunity for company innovation and expansion. The continuation of the company is much more effective than closing the company and starting a new company from scratch. It helps save and optimise resources.

Input

We already have in-house marketing, which could give the team some direction and support the team with analytics that we have already made. We will bring you up to date on the marketing strategies we made in the past and their results. We have good knowledge of the SME market and will support the team in the market analysis and understanding stage.

Expectations

We expect the team to analyse the SME market in Slovenia and the Region. The analysis should give us a better understanding of the market size, characteristics and service needs. Based on this analysis we expect the team to suggest a marketing strategy or campaign how to reach these clients and present Significa advisory services to them. There should also be an estimated budget for this campaign. The evolution of this solution is increased bran awareness in SME segment and increased company sales and client satisfaction.

Desired Team Profile

We are looking for a diverse innovative team, that could give us out-of-the-box ideas. We are looking for a team with knowledge in sales and marketing and social media. Knowledge of Financial services M&A and corporate finance is a bonus. Prior knowledge of the SME segment could also help in finding ideas.

Additional Information

There are many companies in the Slovenian and Regional market that offer coroprate advisory services to clients. However, the SME segment is mostly widely overlooked. We feel there is and will be a strong demand for corporate finance services from these companies as the original owners are slowly retiring and slowly passing control to the next generation. We would like to help in making this transition a success story.
