Herbie.IoT

Desired outcome

Platform Herbei.IoT with new Microsoft Capabilities
We want to upgrade and develop new solutions that will also include new IT technologies from Microsoft, which in the first phase will serve to upgrade the necessary digitization, for planning and follow up the order flow throught processes included in our existing platform Herbie.IoT:
Use of new technologies from Microsoft:
• Hollolens
• Digital Twins and Microsoft Fabrics
• AI for planning and monitoring implementation
Use of new IT systems::
• Microsoft Fabrics & PBI
• Copilot & Microsoft Azzure & AI

Initial Problem Description

The use of Microsft new Technolgy for upgrade existing Portal Herbie.IoT
Hollolens is intended for use in the manufacturing process, where Power BI data on the Buffer status can be monitored in the Microsoft Hololens
DigitalTwins serves as a digital production overview that allows monitoring the status of buffers from Power BI (Herbie.IoT)
Microsoft Fabrics serves as data storage for graphical and other data
AI serves to calculate:
• initial supplies (when using ADU-Average Daily Usage) in the individual damper for VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory)
• calculates the average production of identical parts on the limit for MTO (Managament to Order)

Context

Either MS Fabrics is used together with Power BI (Herbie.IoT) for a new way of storing data and files (lay outs, data size is checked for Digital Twins use) or only lay out is used in the first phase to use Hololens and Power BI (Herbie.IoT) data.
Copilot is used in the first phase to:
• Calculation and preparation of specially adapted reports in Power BI (Herbie.IoT) for specific users
• Calculation and preparation of specially adapted simulations in the "What if" module
Microsoft Azure is used in the first phase to test the connection of data from different files and clouds within "Onelake", where the use of data storage from several types of databases, IOT sensors, AI and from several clouds is tested, to prepare reports and dashboards in Power BI(Herbie.IoT) .
We will continue the second phase of new technologies after the successful first phase.

Connection to cross-cutting areas

The challenge is connected with Industry 4.0 and digitalization. We wants to upgrade existing solutions include in Herbie.IoT which is built on Power BI and published on SharePoint all is on Microsoft 365. We want to improve connectivity and accessibility to data, IoT sensors, different clouds, lay outs/process blueprints, which is enabled by Microsoft Fabrics, Microsoft Azure, AI and Microsoft Copilot

Input

There are many sw links available in the world with these principles, but they are mostly designed as stand-alone software packages.
Microsoft itself already uses these principles in its Supply Chain (

) for Microsoft Store, and our challenge is to provide the entire Herbi.IoT portal within the modern Azure platform. A lot of experience, which is gathered within www.TOCICO.org and www, toc.tv, how these new principles are incorporated and improve the flow of orders.

Expectations

We want to acquire knowledge and Microsoft applications that will enable the use of modern Microsoft Azure, Ai, Fabrics and AI applications by upgrading the existing Herbie.IoT portal. The use of these modern technologies will enable a wider use of the principles covered in the current Herbie.IoT portal, it will expand the possibility of using the portal for desired new business users (hospitals, retail...)

Desired Team Profile

Specific knowledge of the latest principles of Microsoft Azure, Copilot, Fabrics, AI, Hollolens, Digital Twins is required, which would be used as an upgrade of the current Herbie.IoT application, which now works within Micros0ft Power BI and SharePont online in the Microsoft 365 system. Since these are new and open oriented platforms within the Microsoft system (some of them are publicly available after this year's Microsoft Ignite, this week), they are definitely a challenge for students and Academics

Additional Information

It is a challenge for all of us if you want to participate in the development of modern applications and the Herbie.IoT portal within the latest Microsoft technologies, for which we need help. The principles used within the Herbie.IoT portal, which we have developed over many years of work and development and are already in practical use, will enable you to learn about the latest process management technologies that are being implemented with great success around the world.
