Desired outcome

The Southwest Hungarian Engineering Cluster is an association of 44 companies for which visibility in social media has become a strategic area. It manages an active Facebook and Linkedin profile, but has not yet achieved a breakthrough in the number of followers.

Initial Problem Description

We aim to reach 250 followers on the cluster's Facebook page and 500 on LinkedIn. We currently have 157 followers on Facebook and 175 on LinkedIn. The activity of the posts varies (reach, reactions), there are some posts that are popular in relation to the number of followers, but this is not the case. It is not easy to engage members of the organisation to collaborate. Return on time and energy invested in management is also a relevant issue.

Context

The cluster has no budget for hiring an online marketing specialist or for paid advertising. Of the 2 main managers, 1 is in charge of social media presence and has a university degree in marketing, but no previous practical experience. Current content is producing results in terms of follower numbers, but not yet effectively enough. Typically, we re-share posts from member companies, as well as create our own posts about cluster events, management activities and share news that is posted on our website.

Connection to cross-cutting areas

The challenge is linked to digitalisation, as the non-profit sector is also expected to have an online presence and to be successful on as many platforms as possible. To address this challenge, the cluster's online activities need to be considered in a complex way to optimise the energy investment and results.

Input

We can share details, experiences and statistics (follower trends, reach and reactions to posts, website readership, follower composition, etc.) of our current online activities, including social media. We are not aware of a similar Hungarian cluster with a high number of followers and reactions to their content, so we cannot refer to such an example.

Expectations

We are looking for a complex marketing strategy that will help us to make our overall online presence more effective, in addition to reaching our target follower numbers. We are open to new platforms and formats (e.g. video), but we do not have experience in this. The solution must take into account the constraints on our organisation's human and financial resources.

Desired Team Profile

Successful experience in social media management and knowledge of social media platforms (X/Twitter, TikTok, YouTube) is an advantage, but creativity and feasible ideas are needed first and foremost. Having basic (online) marketing knowledge is also a plus. Based on a university degree, we expect economists to take on the challenge.

We are available for any questions you may have, we propose an online consultation with the team in order to explain the structure, objectives and functioning of the cluster to better understand the problem.. We can also share our plans and ideas with the team.
