The teams are tasked with transforming the website into a high-performing, visually cohesive, and user-friendly platform that aligns with ENVIT's mission.
Context
This challenge aims to enhance the ENVIT ReSoil® website, a vital platform for promoting sustainable soil remediation. The current site faces issues with inconsistent design, inefficient content management, and average performance, hindering its ability to engage key stakeholders like environmental professionals, policymakers, and the public. Additionally, inadequate branding and lack of SEO optimization limit its visibility and impact. By addressing these challenges, the goal is to transform the website into a high-performing, user-friendly website that effectively communicates ReSoil®'s benefits and supports ENVIT's mission of sustainable soil remediation.
Connection to cross-cutting areas
This challenge is closely linked to General Sustainability, Industry 4.0, and digitalization. By setting up an efficient CMS, improving the design, and boosting performance, the ENVIT ReSoil® website will become a key tool for promoting sustainable soil remediation. Making the website more user-friendly and accessible supports General Sustainability by increasing awareness of soil pollution and its solutions. Using advanced digital tools and consistent branding reflects Industry 4.0, using technology to improve information sharing and engagement with stakeholders. Digitalization is at the heart of this challenge, as transforming the website into a user- and content creator-friendly platform will help promote ReSoil® technology and support ENVIT's mission in environmental sustainability.
Input
Soil pollution is a global challenge impacting various Sustainable Development Goals, including health, sustainable ecosystems, and climate regulation. Soils absorb pollution from various sources like industry, agriculture, transportation, and waste disposal, leading to widespread contamination. For example, there are an estimated 2.8 million potentially contaminated sites in the EU alone, and 16% of all soils in China are polluted. Soil contamination poses serious health risks, including damage to the lungs, liver, and cardiovascular system, and contributes to more than 500,000 premature deaths worldwide annually.
Current remediation methods are often limited, especially when soils are contaminated with multiple pollutants like heavy metals (e.g., lead, cadmium, arsenic) and organic substances. This complexity often requires a combination of decontamination methods, known as remediation trains. ReSoil® developed by Envit Ltd. is a unique, multi-patented remediation technology that offers a zero-emission process for removing toxic metals and metalloids without generating wastewater, while preserving the soil's natural properties. This project aims to help commercialize ReSoil® as an integrated remediation solution to address complex soil contamination challenges.
Expectations
We expect the solution to evolve into a modern, user-friendly website that effectively communicates ReSoil® technology's value, highlights case studies, and facilitates inquiries. As an admin of the website, I'm looking for seamless content management. Beyond the technical solution, I anticipate clear communication and a design that can impress our diverse followers, partners, and stakeholders. We want they ensure seamless functionality of the website. The team should also provide guidelines for ENVIT to manage and update the website independently. Overall, we seek a collaborative effort that results in a quality website.
Desired Team Profile
We seek a diverse team proficient in web development, design, and content creation for the ENVIT website. We're specifically looking for web developers skilled in front-end and back-end development, UX/UI designers capable of creating intuitive interfaces, and content creators who can craft clear, concise, and compelling content about ReSoil® technology, ideally with knowledge of environmental science. Additionally, SEO specialists experienced in optimizing web content are needed to ensure discoverability. While not mandatory, a background in environmental science or soil remediation would provide valuable context. Overall, we prioritize a multidisciplinary team that can collaborate effectively and leverage their expertise to create a impactful ENVIT website.
Additional Information
Before the start, the co-creation team will be notified of Envit's innovative soil remediation solutions - ReSoil® technology, which efficiently removes heavy metals and metalloids while preserving soil integrity for safe use. ReSoil® is patented internationally and has been scientifically validated for its effectiveness, with multiple papers published in esteemed scientific journals. Unlike existing solutions like soil dig & dump or immobilization methods, ReSoil® offers a sustainable, environmentally friendly alternative that incurs low operating costs. It's customizable, scalable, and adaptable to various soil types and contamination levels, making it a disruptive solution in the global soil remediation market. Teams must understand the competitive landscape and the limitations of current options to effectively position ReSoil® as a groundbreaking solution poised for commercialization.
